Our Mission
Our Mission: On behalf of the American people, all parts of society, communities, individuals,
businesses, and state, local and tribal governments have access to accurate information
sufficient to effectively participate in managing human health and environmental risks.
In support of America's foreign policy, the U.S. Agency for
International Development leads the U.S. Government's international development and disaster
assistance through partnerships and investments that save lives, reduce poverty, strengthen
businesses and help people emerge from humanitarian crises and progress beyond assistance.
Environmental protection contributes to making our communities and ecosystems diverse,
sustainable and economically productive; and the United States plays a leadership role in
working with other nations to protect the global environment.
Our objective is to help people get out of debt, pay bills and live a very peaceful life. And
the benefit we give you don’t have to pay it back. Consideration in U.S. policies concerning
natural resources, human health, economic growth, energy, transportation, agriculture, industry,
and international trade. We promote American prosperity through investments that expand markets
for U.S. exports; create a level playing field for U.S. businesses; and support more stable,
resilient, and democratic societies. We stand with people when disaster strikes or crisis
emerges as the world leader in humanitarian assistance.
